Contacts in Mobile, Alabama

Premier Medical Eye Group offers a wide selection of cutting edge contact lenses including corneal shaping /ORTHOK, disposable soft contacts, bifocal/multifocal, toric, rigid gas permeable, hybrid, tinted and specialty fit lenses. Whether you wear daily, weekly or monthly disposables, or conventional (vial) lenses, we almost always have a lens modality that can work for you.

A good contact lens fit starts with a thorough eye exam to ensure the most up-to-date prescription and rule out any  pre-existing conditions that could interfere with contact lens wear. Many contact lens types and  materials are available to enable us to fit most patients.

We will determine the best fitting lens based on your lifestyle needs, the shape and health of your eye. In most cases, you'll have the opportunity to try lenses on the same day as your exam. You can even go home with a few samples before making a final decision.

We follow up the initial fitting and then make any necessary changes in fit or materials to get you the best possible fit. We teach all our patients proper contact lens care and also possible consequences if proper care is not taken.  Your contact lens prescription is available after this follow-up is completed and is good for one year.

Then we continue with long-term follow-up to monitor the condition of the lenses, the health of the eye related to contact lens wear to ensure safe and comfortable wear over the long term.

If you're interested in a contact lens fitting or prescription, call our Mobile, AL office today at (251) 470-8844 to schedule an appointment.

  • We at Premier Medical Eye Group carry all of the top contact lens brands!  We can get any lens made, making contact lens wear possible for even the most difficult cases.  We also fit many brands of rigid gas-permeable lenses, including WAVE RGP contacts that are designed to fit your eye perfectly, even eyes that have had RK previously.  RGP lenses offer the best quality vision, rivalng LASIK quality vision without the surgery.  No soft lens offers the vision quality of an RGP lens due to higher order abberation correction that occurs while the RGP lens is worn.
  • Contact Lenses have evolved so quickly that our Mobile AL Optometrist says "Today there is basically a contact lens for every stage of ones life, and the comfort and quality of vision with the latest contacts is better than ever before.
  • Forget reading glasses or eye surgery, multifocal contact lenses are designed to help you see near, far and in between all with the same contact lens.
  • If you need correction for presbyopia but dislike the idea of bifocal eyeglasses, you have many contact lens options.
  • These rigid lenses aren’t as popular or well-known as soft lenses, but they offer the advantages of durability, crisp vision and high oxygen permeability.
  • Challenges such as astigmatism, presbyopia, keratoconus and dry eyes needn’t be a barrier to contact lens wear, but they do require more time and patience.
  • “I can’t wear soft contacts; I have astigmatism.” This once-true statement is now simply a myth.
